Marcel Valiquette

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Marcel Valiquette of Poplar River, MB. on May 3, 2019 at the St Boniface Hospital at the age of 89 years.

Marcel was predeceased by his father Ed, mother Florence, sisters Therese and Ethel, brothers Edward, Jim and Raymond. Marcel leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife Frances of 67 years, daughters Ethel (Alex), Lorraine, Marilyn, Gail, Cecilia and Angie. His sons John (Verna), Gerald, Harry and Neil Valiquette. His sisters, Irene and Rose, numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great and great great grandchildren.

Marcel was born in Black River on August 17, 1929 where he spent most of his life as a commercial fisherman and trapper and later moved to Poplar River.

Prayer service will be on Sunday May 5, 2019 from 7pm – 10pm at Eternal Grace Funerals 1111 Logan Ave at McPhillips St.  Wake service will be held on Monday May 6, 2019 at the Poplar River Catholic Church in Poplar River, MB. Funeral service will follow on Tuesday May 7, 2019 at 11am also from the church. Interment to follow at Poplar River Cemetery.
