Archie Graham Obituary

After struggling many years with health issues, it is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Jim Graham in Saint Boniface Hospital on February 3rd, 2024. Jim was a beloved husband of over 52 years, a present and caring father, a loving and opinionated uncle, a doting Grandpa G, a devoted brother and brother-in-law, and a great friend.  Jim leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Paulette (nee Nault), son, Michael (Christelle), and grandchildren–Sara (in Norway), Alexander, and Paul. Jim was predeceased by his son Keith in 2006, his sister Shirley in 2018, and his brother-in-law, Harry in 2022.  Jim also leaves to mourn his siblings, Margaret Peril, Agnes Thompson (Cliff), Flora Schalla (Ray), Arnold Graham (Ruth), Larry Graham, and three sisters-in-law-Lucille Arnal, Jeanette Nault and Gloria Nault as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Jim was a man of many roles and responsibilities.  He was a cowboy at heart; his love of horses and the wild west was deeply ingrained within him.  Jim always loved country living and all the wide-open spaces and fresh air that came with it.  Jim was a long-time member of Khartum Shrine Horse Guard Unit which combined his love of horses with service work for the greater good.  Throughout his life, Jim had many trades.  He was a funeral director and embalmer.  He worked in construction and even had a stint teaching drywall installation at Red River College.  Jim was also a professional short-haul driver for Hugh Munro Construction and Borland Construction Inc.  Finally, Jim worked for the City of Winnipeg’s Transit System up until retirement age and eagerly took many an odd job after retirement to keep him busy.

There will be a small private viewing. At a later juncture, a time and date in August 2024 will be announced for a celebration of life with internment to follow in Richer Cemetery.  Jim’s family wishes to acknowledge the staff of the 7th floor, A-West wing at Saint Boniface for their crucial care and support throughout these last few weeks.  Eternal Grace Funerals, 1111 Logan Avenue, Winnipeg, Manitoba are in care of arrangements.  In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to CancerCare Manitoba Foundation or to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
