On Tuesday July 13th, 2021 it was with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and aunt.

She will be sorrowfully missed by her children Mike Cruly (Kathy), Tim Cruly (Misty), Kelly Delorme and August JR Delorme; her grandchildren Alex, Cassidy, Joy, Terri, Richie, Zach, Alexis, Janey, Michael, Shelby, Skyler, Tanita, Dillion “Best Bud”, Desiree and Tiana; her great grandchildren Aiden, Liam, Lane, Luke, , Asia, Thayla, Kamara Kody, Brody, and Sophia; her sisters and brothers Eugene Mclean (Patty), George Mclean, Lily Mclean, Marvin Traverse and Shirley Mclean; as well as numerous relatives which include cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Bertha is predeceased by her parents Louisa Mclean and Alexander Traverse, her stepfather Vernon Sumner; her paternal grandparents Robert and Emma Jane Travers; her maternal grandparents Jemima and Donald Sanderson; her sisters and brothers Darlene Mclean, Doreen Traverse, Olive (Traverse) Stove, Vivian Traverse, Lawrence Traverse, Sidney Traverse and Ivor Traverse; her granddaughter Savannah Cruly; her nephews Joey Sinclair, Sterling Warren and Timothy Traverse; her aunts and uncles Irma Sanderson (Henry), Mary Shorting, Johnny, Rosaleen Sanderson and Dave Sanderson; as well as numerous relatives which include cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Bertha was the eldest of thirteen siblings she was born in Lake St. Martin and was raised in Little Saskatchewan First Nation on Treaty 2 Territory. She was a residential school survivor this made her a strong outspoken “warrior”. She was an advocate/ activist for many issues close to her heart. While supporting these issues she always made the headlines of many different news articles that were to help the indigenous people.

Bertha loved to spend her free time listening to live music especially when her son Tim was playing. She enjoyed going out on the dance floor and showing her moves as young men would be waiting on the sidelines to ask her to dance. Bertha had a great sense of fashion; she always had a wide variety of clothing. She also loved to travel; her favourite place to go was Vegas as she could enjoy her favourite “hobby” playing games at the casino. She had many hobbies another one happened to be studying. Throughout her life she always upgraded her education, as she always sought after more ways to help people. Bertha always spoke highly of her mother, father, her siblings, numerous nieces, nephews “auntie B” and right down to her grandchildren/ great grandchildren “G-ma”.We will all miss you, your smile, your laugh, your compassion and most of all your strong will.
