Dan was born in Kitchener-Waterloo to John (Bud) and Vera Ferguson. He had three brothers, Richard, Gary (Sandra) and Donald.
Dan moved to South Indian Lake, where he met and married Edna Moose on December 14, 1974. They were married for 46 years.
In 1976 the family moved to Thompson, Manitoba where he worked for The City as a dog catcher and sanitation engineer for 26 years.
He also spent 5 years in the army.
Dan was a long time member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and attended church regularly until he was placed in the Beacon Lodge care home.
Dan went back to the Lord after a long struggle with dementia.
He is survived by his wife Edna Ferguson, her children Lorraine Morningstar, Matthew Thunder, and Rosanna Deerchild, many grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his mother Vera, Father John, Brothers Richard, Gary and Donald
His aunties: Vida, Violet (Mickey Bell) and Ruby.
Memorial to be held at Eternal Grace Funerals at 1111 Logan Ave Friday September 25 20202 12:00 - 1:30.
Interment to follow at Brookside Cemetery.
