Geraldine Lynn Fontaine

Geraldine Lynn Fontaine, peacefully with her family by her side, passed away on Monday, December 5th, 2022, after a short, but optimistic, battle with cancer.

Gerry is lovingly remembered by her family and friends, including children, Tyrone (Andrea), Kaizic, and Chauntelle (Mike); grandchildren, Finley, Elliott, and Zane; and by her siblings, Angela, Carl, Todd, Troy Marie, Rina, and Deena.

Geraldine was predeceased by her mother Christina Fontaine and her father Clarence Fontaine.

She had many nieces, nephews, and cousins who were in her close family circle, and in particular was quite close to her niece Sherry, and cousin Penny. She also considered many of her friends to be part of her family as well, whether it was talking for hours, almost daily, with her lifelong friend, Wanda or spending the day with her new friend Pete who always brightened her day.

She was born in Pine Falls, Manitoba, on December 3rd, 1960, but spent the majority of her life living in Winnipeg. Gerry lived life to the fullest! She cared deeply about her family and friends, and was always the first to volunteer to host a celebration, she loved those close to her, and wanted them to know it. She was a great cook and enjoyed sharing her family recipes with her grandchildren. In recent years, she was proud of the success of her business, Kanata Indigenous Workplace Skills, empowering clients in Indigenous communities across Canada. Her light was bright, she loved music, and was proud of her Indigenous heritage. Her memory will live on through her family and friends.

Celebration of life will be held on Thursday, December 15, 2022, at 12 noon at Eternal Grace Funerals.

Interment to follow at Brookside Cemetery.
