It is with great sadness that we announce the tragic passing of our beloved daughter, mother, sister, auntie, partner, and friend.
Jennifer leaves to mourn her passing, her mother Candy Volk, father Stewart Funk, grandmother Elizabeth “Rene” Funk; James Volk (Dad), her partner Anthony Maxwell, infant son Anthony “AJ” Jr., stepdaughter Darrylinn Maxwell; brothers, Josh David and Michael and sister Lilly. Nephews, Joshua Jr., Ash, Sincere and Rylan, nieces, Jordan, Mytayah and Arianna; many aunties, uncles, and cousins too numerous to mention.
Jenny had many friends she considered sisters and brothers and all their children grew up calling her “auntie Jenny”.
Jenny was kind, loving, gentle and fierce. She protected those she loved with a ferocious passion. Jenny was the best daughter, sister, and auntie anyone could wish or hope for. She enjoyed spoiling her family and helping them anyway she could. She always made sure to make extra time for her mom, spending as much time as she could with her, looking after her, caring for her and showering her with love.
Jenny met the man of her dreams Anthony Maxwell. He put a smile on her face and a twinkle in her eye and she glowed with all the love and attention he gave her.
Jenny became a first-time mom on December 3,2019 giving birth to her son Anthony “AJ”. That little boy was her world, her pride, and her joy. She flooded social media daily with pics and videos of her son to share with family and friends as covid restricted social visits and outings. Jenny provided her son with everything he needed, wanted and then some. Her love for him was a sight to behold.
Holidays were always a big occasion for her family and Jenny carried on those traditions helping to make sure they were all fun and amazing whether it was birthdays, easter and especially Christmas. Jenny had just finished decorating her house for Halloween because it was AJ’s first one and she wanted to make it fun. She had already begun collecting decorations and gifts for AJ’s first birthday in December.
A private family time with Jenny will be held Sunday October 4,2020. Funeral service will be on Monday October 5,2020 at 12 noon. Due to covid restrictions only family will be allowed in the chapel, but the service will be live streamed by Jessica Bird for those who wish to join in the service celebrating Jenny’s life. “A smudge will be lit outside at the front door of the funeral home for those who wish to stop and offer tobacco and prayers.”
Burial will be at Brookside Cemetery. A feast will follow “event page will be posted”.
Pallbearers will be Josh Dare, Joel Maxwell, Darryl Norosky, Melissa Parisian, Erica Meservier and Lisa Hargreaves. Honoary pallbearers will be Cody Husdon, Doug Gladue, Gary Harper, Jessica Bird, Tara Nepinak, Lisa Courchene, Yvonne Caron, Angela Slaunwhite and everyone else she called friend.
Keeper of the Sacred Medicine will be Kelly Brown. Cpt. Mark Young will be the officiant.
The family is asking that at this time you honor and remember Jennifer by how she lived rather than how she died.
