Joseph Norman Berens

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our beloved Dad, brother, uncle, grandpa, great grandpa and friend, “Basaw”

He leaves to mourn his passing daughter’s Iris (Vernon) Flett and Corinne (Roland) Whiteway, who were with him as he took his last breath, and his only son Jonathan Nordstrom, also his sisters, Eleonor Lambert and Bernadine (Sanday) Scott,; brothers Allan Berens “Pagan”, and Albert Bear. Cherished memories will forever linger in the hearts of his grandchildren Grant, Tyler, Jeremy, Joshua, Jabez, Rhivers and his only granddaughter Leah, numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.

Norman was predeceased by his parents Gordon and Charlotte Berens; uncles Victor, Alex, Murray Berens, Harold McKay and Allan Bittern; aunts Victoria Boulanger and Clementine Bittern; brothers David Melvin, Elijah, Jules and Kirby Berens; sisters Yvonne Nuga and Lila Boubard.  

Service will be held on Wednesday February 26th, 2020 at Eternal Grace Funerals 1111 Logan Ave (at McPhillps St.) from 7:00 pm - 11:00 pm.

Traveling to Berens River Thursday February 27, 2020, wake service to start at 7:00 PM at his residence. Funeral service Friday February 28, 2020 at 12 PM at RC mission church. Interment Berens River Cemetery.
