Kevin James Wescoupe

It is heavy hearts that we the family announce the sudden passing of our beloved son, father, grandson, brother, uncle, cousin and friend.

Kevin James Wescoupe passed away on May2, 2023. Kevin resided in Winnipeg most of his life and was from Swan Lake First Nation.

We will forever cherish and miss our loved one, Kevin James Wescoupe  leaves behind his three beautiful children whom he loved, and cared for so much, Chasity, Cameron and Ceejay; the mother of his children Cynthia Staples; mother Lydia Cameron; brothers Dustin and Leon Cameron, Dennis and Ernie Maytwayashing; sisters Melinda and Elizabeth Cameron; his grandmother Rowena Cameron; aunties Denise Marsden, Geraldine Cameron, and Joanne Nimik; uncle Gerald Cameron; great aunt Margaret Peltier; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, cousins, relatives and friends.

Kevin was predeceased by his paternal grandparents John and Alphonsine Woods; maternal grandfather Daniel Walker; his father Cecil Wescoupe; brothers Cecil Cameron and Virgil Maytwayashing.

Kevin was a caring person who loved his children, his mother, siblings, grandmother and all his family deeply. Kevin was humble with a loving heart. At the age of 20 Kevin lost his leg in an accident and as a result wore a prosthetic leg. This disability did not prevent him from working in the various trades which included housing, plumbing, electrical, computers and as a general laborer. This disability prevented Kevin from walking or running normally.

Wake service will be held on Wednesday May 10,2023 from 7 p.m. till 11 p.m. at Eternal Grace Funerals, 1111 Logan Avenue, Pastor Frances Roulette officiating with a free will offering. Traditional wake service will be held on Thursday May 11, 2023, at the Swan Lake Cultural Center at 4 p.m. Final ceremony and feast will begin at 12 noon on Friday May 12,2023 also at Swan Lake Cultural Center. Michael Esquash officiating. Interment to follow at Indian Springs Cemetery with Nick Knysh presiding.

Pallbearers will be Jamie Cameron, Jessie Cameron, Jordon Cameron, Riel Peltier, Deonte Peltier and Allan J Kgear.

The family would like to thank Eternal Grace, Swan Lake chief and council, WPS, as well as family and friends. We thank everyone for their prayers and all the support you have shown to our family during this difficult time. We thank all those who have prepared the food.
