Margaret was born on April 12, 1950 by a Lake near Edmund Lake which is now known as Margaret Lake.  Margaret loved to spend time with her family and was happiest when she was with her grandchildren.  She also had numerous family members that were very close to her and will be remembered for her warm personality and her generous heart.

Margaret was a strong woman of faith and loved listening to gospel music.  Margaret was also a retired teacher.  She taught kindergarten for over 19 years.  In her last years, she moved away from her home community of Manto Sipi Cree Nation.  She moved due to medical reasons and lived at Dial-a-Life home where she created lasting friendships with people living there.

We would like to acknowledge the medical staff that cared for her.  The Nurses and The Doctors that made her final moments comfortable.  We would also like to thank the Manto Sipi Cree Nation Chief and Council and Amos Okemow Memorial Education Authority and to the people that supported the Okemow family.

Private service will be held at Eternal Grace Funerals, following all Covid-19 restrictions. Wake services will be held at Rachel Yellowback’s residence on Thursday June 24,2021 and Friday June 25,2021 following all Covid-19 restrictions.
