Marie Everett Obituary

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of our dear mother/grandmother/great-grandmother/great-great grandmother, Marie Therese Everett on February 21,2020. Therese left us peacefully at the age of 83 years. She passed on in her home at Berens River. Therese was born and raised in Berens River. She lived in Berens River most of her life but did live in Winnipeg for several years.

She leaves to mourn her passing, her children, Linda, Madeline, Wallace, Morden(Nancy), Colleen, Alice, Frances (Lorraine), Viola (Anthony), Veronica (Randy), Carla (Robin), Ray (Michelle) and Sabrina, 62 grandchildren, 102 Great Grand Children and 1 Great-Great Grand Child. Jackie Everett is considered as one of the children as she was raised by Therese. She helped raise many other children, she also leaves many nieces and nephews. She leaves one sister, Rosie George. She is predeceased by her parents, husband William, 3grandchildren and 1 great grandchild, sisters and brother.

Therese worked at the old Nursing Station that was located at RC Mission, worked for the RCMP, School, Old Personal Care home and the United Church. She loved to bake and was well known for her baking. She knew different traditional medicines for healing different wounds and sicknesses. She enjoyed attending church before having difficulty getting to church. She’s well known for her smiles and her good sense of humor. She will be missed by many who knew her.

Wake service will be held at Eternal Grace on Monday, February 24,2020 at 7:00pm till 11;00pm, and will continue Tuesday, February 25,2020 and Wednesday, February 26,2020 at 7:30pm nightly at the RC Mission Church. Funeral will be on Thursday, February 27,2020 at the RC Mission Church starting at 11:00am, with Father Messiah officiating. Interment to follow at the Berens River Cemetery.

Active Pallbearers are: Cross Bearer- Harold, Allison, Dallas, Ashley, David, Roman, Justin, Stacey and Corey.

The family would like to thank the Home Care staff, Chief & Council, Alix Store, RCMP and everyone that has helped in assisting and supporting the family during this difficult time.
