Sebastian Herman Atkinson

It is hard for us to announce the passing of Sebastian Herman Atkinson, on March 25, 2026, at the St. Boniface Hospital, at the young age of 25.

Our family won’t be the same without Sebastian.

I’ll always remember him asking me, “What’s mom doing?”, or checking up when no one ever did.

I think Sebastian was lonely, and he hated that.

The support he gave, was something he never received. We grew up in foster care together and I’ve seen most of Sebastian’s life as a role model. The absence of positive reinforcement or support from graduation, to attending University. Sebastian rarely saw birthday celebrations, or just being rewarded for his achievements. Maybe that’s why Sebastian always said he was a pillar holding our siblings together. I agree, Sebastian was intelligent, caring, and always seemed more mature. Penny, Stephanie, Cary, Avory, and Simone also looked up to him as a role model and saw his potential.

He told me about the “fake” attending his funeral, I can’t make most those calls. I’m sure he told me for a reason, so I’ll just let it be known.

Most importantly, we all saw a brother, friend, and family member. Sebastian’s absence will be felt by Glenda, Adrian, Penny, Cary, Stephanie, Simone, Avory, Herman, and many others.

On Sebastian’s journey to creator, and our loved ones. He wanted to leave us a gift, Sebastian asked our mom and me for a cremation.

Life was always hard, was hardest not to fight... When it comes to that, occupy yourself with something else - a message to my loved ones.

Funeral service to be held on Wednesday April 8, 2026, at 11am, at Eternal Grace Funerals (10-1111 Logan Ave. Winnipeg MB).

Interment to follow at the Roseau Rapids Cemetery.
