It is with deep sadness that we regret to announce the sudden and unexpected passing of Guillermo (Gil) C. Quiboquibo on Saturday, December 30, 2017 at the age of 75 at the Health Sciences Centre. Although unexpected, he passed away peacefully.
Guillermo was born on February 10, 1942 in Cordova, Cebu, Philippines. He immigrated to Winnipeg, Manitoba where he spent most of his life.
He is survived by his wife Maria of 40 years; children, William, Raymond (Charlianne), Katherine (Sremo Jan); and grandchildren, Llyndon Mekhai Kash and Izaiah Raymond; nieces; nephews; cousins and many more of his family and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Toribio Quiboquibo and Felipa B. Casquijo; siblings, Nicanora and Ricardo.
Guillermo was a hardworking family man. Nothing mattered more than making sure his family was taken care of. Gil found joy in fixing cars, fishing and doing work around the house. Tough on the exterior, he had the kindest heart and sweetest soul. He was a loving, devoted husband, father and grandfather. We miss him, but know he is in a better place, resting peacefully.
Gil’s family would like to thank all the staff at Health Sciences Centre especially CCU for making him comfortable during his remaining days. Lamay/Viewing will be held on Friday, January 5, 2018 at 7:00 pm at Eternal Grace Funerals, 10-1111 Logan Ave. The Cremation will take place on Saturday, January 6, 2018 privately. His family is forever grateful for the condolences, love and support everyone has shared.
